Position Summary:
As a key member of the Finance department, and reporting to the accounting manager, the General Accountant will be responsible for recording financial transactions, ensuring compliance and analyzing internal operating results, preparing and supporting month-end, quarterly and year-end information and reports, as well as maintaining internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing daily accounting tasks, reconciling general ledger accounts including month-end journal entries, and conducting variance analysis.
  • Prepare Misc. Invoices and closing AR.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset module.
  • Maintain and forecast fixed asset continuity schedule and depreciation.
  • Maintain lease accounting module.
  • Assist monthly accounting package.
  • Assist quarterly related party transaction reports.
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

Required Competencies:
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience with SAP considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and handle a high volume of work.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sense of initiative and accountability, and able to work with minimal supervision.
